Spatial Data Infrastructure – ADSIC
Client: Abu Dhabi Systems & Information Centre (ADSIC), Abu Dhabi
Project name: Development Framework for Abu Dhabi Spatial Data infrastructure (AD-SDI)
Description: The purpose of this service oriented architecture project was to design a framework upon which the spatial services and applications being deployed in the AD-SDI could be developed. These included web applications, mobile handheld applications and desktop applications.
Services Provided: Consulting services in the form of a Solution Architecture
Solution: Navmatica started with cataloguing and defining all existing city services. These numbered in the thousands, with several hundred being characterized as having a geospatial component. Services were then mapped to numerous pre-existing geospatial data models (via a metamodel). User interaction requirements were then specified and defined to enable both private and public access to the electronic government. This architecture then became the framework upon which various spatial and service modules were developed, including the e-government department locator, mobile maps and generic spatial services module (enterprise service bus).
Technology Deployed: Server infrastructure based on ESRI ArcGIS Server with diverse client tech.
Duration: 500 person days
Results: Work resulting from this project received a prestigious international ESRI award. Details may be viewed here:
